Core Transformation Research

The first randomized controlled trial, published in a peer-reviewed journal

We are glad that the first randomized controlled trial of Core Transformation has been published in a major professional journal (full text of the pre-publication version here).

The study appeared in the July 2019 issue of the Journal of Counseling and Development, written by Dinesh J. Braganza, Richard M. Gray et al.

Meaningful results after a single session

The treatment consisted of one single session. Even with this brief intervention, Core Transformation produced significant positive results on measures of general wellbeing and symptom reduction, assessed 4 and 8 weeks after that one session. The effects were moderate, and statistically significant.

“Although we would not expect a single Core Transformation session to resolve all of a person’s issues, this study confirms what we have seen in our trainings, in coaching practices and in our own lives: Core Transformation brings results.

From the published study

“The reduction in symptom distress was especially notable, in that the single Core Transformation session produced moderate effect sizes for improvements that were maintained 4 and 8 weeks after the session. Scores on the Emotional Stability scale even showed continued improvement up to 8 weeks after the session.

The changes measured show that the Core Transformation intervention positively affected a broad range of clinically relevant individual difference characteristics, with significant improvements in every category. These improvements show that the benefits of Core Transformation went beyond the mere resolution of symptoms and reached broader aspects of the person’s life and functioning.”

Looking ahead: further research is under way

A small research team is already working on future studies to measure the effects of several Core Transformation sessions. Our clinical experience suggests that more than one session leads to stronger results still. We are curious to see what the research will show.
